On the border of two regions, Lombardy and Veneto, south of Lake Garda, Valeggio sul Mincio is located in the natural amphitheatre of the morainal hills that overlook the Po Plain, close to Verona and Mantua, two splendid cities of art.
The valley that the Mincio runs through from north to south has a breathtaking natural landscape; a strip of green amongst the splendour of the lower part of the lake, a sinuous water course that winds around bends and reed beds and a habitat and refuge for many species of birds.
Valeggio’s economy is linked closely to the land and is based on thriving agriculture, a deep-rooted craftwork tradition and growing industrial activity. This has not however prevented the town from becoming established as a popular tourist destination over the last decades.
Classified as "Città dArte"(City of Art) for the artistic heritage that distinguishes it, Valeggio sul Mincio can offer a great deal to all who want to spend a holiday dedicated to culture, nature and the most authentic gastronomy.
